Arnott's Chocolate Butternut Snap 200g

Mushbooh

Verified 8 Jul 2026

Arnott's Chocolate Butternut Snap 200g is mushbooh (doubtful): Animal-derived colours or flavours possible, Source-dependent additives — the manufacturer's response confirmed the doubt.

Manufacturer reply

Arnott's are currently not Halal certified. Small amounts of alcohol-based flavours (like vanilla essence) are added to sweet biscuits. We know alcohol is sensitive to heat and we believe the alcohol is evaporated during baking, but there is a slight possibility that trace amounts could still be present in the finished product.
Arnott's Consumer Care reply — Arnott's holds no halal certification and will not confirm the source of this product's flavours or other source-dependent ingredients. The small alcohol-based flavour traces Arnott's mentions are not khamr — the alcohol the Quran prohibits — and cannot intoxicate, so they no longer count as a doubt (see the trace-ethanol explanation on our methodology page); it is the unconfirmed ingredient sources that keep this product doubtful.Received 8 Jul 2026email reply ↗

Animal-derived colours or flavours possible
