Manufacturer reply

Mars gums and mints products (made in Australia) are not Halal certified. These products are suitable for a vegetarian diet.
Mars Wrigley Consumer Care reply — Australian-made Mars gums and mints are suitable for vegetarians, which clears the animal-source questions on the gum base, glycerol and glazing agents, and Mars adds no alcohol to its products; at most, raw ingredients may carry a trace as a processing aid. Such a trace is not khamr — the alcohol the Quran prohibits, such as wine, beer, or spirits made to intoxicate — and is far too small to intoxicate no matter how much is consumed. The world's major Islamic legal councils, including the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, have ruled that non-khamr alcohol of this kind and quantity does not make food haram. See the trace-ethanol explanation on our methodology page for the full ruling and fatwa sources.Received 9 Jul 2026email reply ↗email reply 2 ↗
