Not Halal

Verified 31 Jul 2026

Queen Writing Icing Multipack 5 Pack 105g is not halal, per the brand's published statement (30 Jul 2026).

Brand statement

Sugar, water, vegetable oil, maltodextrin, tapioca starch, modified starches (tapioca, corn), humectant (glycerine), colours (vegetable carbon, carmines, curcumins, copper complexes of chlorophylls), emulsifiers (mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monostearate), dextrose, glucose syrup, plant extract (spirulina concentrate), flavours, acidity regulator (citric acid), preservative (potassium sorbate), antioxidant (mixed tocopherols concentrate), thickener (carrageenan).
Queen's own product page declares carmines among the colours. Carmine is an insect-derived colour and is not halal under our standards. Queen's page lists the product as Halal Certified and it appears on Queen's published halal certificate, but a declared haram ingredient decides the verdict.Captured 30 Jul 2026queen.com.au ↗certificate ↗
