Manufacturer reply

At this time, none of our products are Halal Certified, and we do not currently audit our manufacturing processes or raw materials specifically for Halal compliance. However, some of our products are suitable for vegetarians. We've attached the list for your reference.
PepsiCo ANZ Consumer Information Centre reply — PepsiCo's current vegetarian product list (Feb 2026, linked) names this product as “Sakata - Seaweed”, confirming its flavours and dairy are not animal-derived. The label also declares soy sauce, whose small trace of fermentation alcohol forms naturally during brewing — the same process that occurs in bread, ripe fruit, and vinegar. It is not khamr, the alcohol the Quran prohibits, such as wine, beer, or spirits made to intoxicate, and it cannot intoxicate in any quantity; the major Islamic legal councils have ruled that naturally occurring fermentation alcohol is not khamr and does not make food haram. See the trace-ethanol explanation on our methodology page for the full ruling and fatwa sources.Received 8 Jul 2026email reply ↗vegetarian list ↗
